Workshop Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, state Title V leaders will be able to:
- Define the context and purpose of the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation cycle in state Title V programs.
- Describe strategies for incorporating needs assessment activities in ongoing efforts.
- Assess the relationship between ongoing efforts and the prioritization process.
- Identify strategies for linking state-derived priorities, and performance measures to actual programmatic activities.
- Identify options for the implementation of new initiatives.
- Discuss the role of stakeholders as ongoing partners in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation process.
- Describe the process of strategic planning and the role of ongoing monitoring of implementation successes and failures.
- Embrace and promote the importance of evaluation in program management and leadership.
- Articulate the role of a leader in managing change and discuss several strategies for managing change effectively.
- Effectively contribute to larger public health system planning and incorporate the MCH Essential Services into state and local public health strategic plans.
- Connect with colleagues across states with shared interests and shared challenges for ongoing state-to-state mentoring.
